Kathleen launched her women’s apparel line under her own name Kathleen van der Spek in 2009 after she studied fashion design and marketing and built up a great deal of experience at Tommy Bahama. The brand is based in San Francisco Bay area where she produces a variety of ideas and an entrepreneurial spirit. She told me her inspiration mostly came from past era and she successfully combined the tastes to modern style. 

Kathleen can der Speck’s clothes are simple but sophisticated and luxurious. The brand is various lines of Knit so she most focuses on her fabrics, which are all using natural materials. As she told me each country has different superior fabrics, she imported fabrics from the various countries including Japan, Korea, Italy, Los Angeles, and China. (Ex. Silk from Korea and China) Therefore, when I touched the clothes, I feel comfortable. Once you wear this Kathleen’s clothes you definitely seem fashionably and stylish yet effortless and comfortable.
